"How someone can be shot in the head and still be here, I don't understand. They say I'm a walking miracle!" The Sun quoted the Bradford Commando Brentley, as saying.

Talking about the goggles he said: "They deflected the bullet up a bit." our months after the injury, he has amazed doctors by learning to walk and talk again.

However, he is now deaf in his left ear and has other medical problems, including short-term memory loss.

The ex-rugby league pro, who quit the sport to join 40 Commando, saluted the skill of Army medics who treated him in Afghanistan.

After being flown to Birmingham, surgeons had to remove part of his brain and skull, which is now left concave and needing a metal plate, the paper said. (ANI)
