No clash between parliament, judiciary: Nawaz Sharif

Rajanpur (Pakistan), Tue, 28 Sep 2010 ANI

Rajanpur (Pakistan), Sep 28 (ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has claimed that there are no differences between the parliament and the judiciary in the country.

Talking to media persons, Nawaz said that while the cases of some people were yet to be decided by the court, it was wrong to assume that the pending decisions had led to a confrontation between the two institutions, the Daily Times reported.

Democracy was vital for all institutions to function properly, he added.

The Supreme Court's decision to reopen Swiss cases against President Asif Ali Zardari has become a major bone of contention between the incumbent government and the Supreme Court of Pakistan, with many people fearing that the situation may eventually lead to a constitutional showdown.

Earlier, Nawaz monitored the construction of a modern village in Miani Malah village in Kot Mithhan.

He said the government was trying its best to construct modern villages with all modern facilities in the flood-affected areas, emphasising that it had distributed 400 million rupees among 61,511 flood victims. (ANI)
