London, Sept.11 (ANI): Six men cut off from the world in an experiment to simulate a voyage to Mars have sent a message of support to Chile's trapped miners.ccording to The Sun, the team has been locked in a mock spaceship since June 3 and will spend 520 days simulating the effects on humans of a mission to the red planet.
They live on rationed food and can only communicate via email.
In a diary entry released by the European Space Agency yesterday, French volunteer "astronaut" Romain Charles, 31, wrote: "All our thoughts go to the 33 miners in Chile. When you are in isolation you feel closer to other people living the same experience."
He advised them: "Stay busy, be careful with your health and keep a day-night schedule."
The 33 men have been trapped since August 5 following a landslide at the gold and copper mine in the Atacama Desert. They are trapped 2700 feet below the earth's surface. (ANI)
