Melbourne, Sept 2 (ANI): The corruption watchdog in Perth has found that a university academic has been pressurising three female overseas students for sex in exchange for higher marks.

Former Curtin University of Technology academic, Dr Nasrul Ali, had in 2009 asked three female students in their early twenties "to think of something to convince him to change their marks".

The Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) found evidence that supported the students' allegations that Dr Ali was asking them for sex, News.com.au reports.

All the three Chinese women were being financially supported by their families and had to pass the courses or risk losing their student visas.

In a report tabled in parliament, the CCC found that while there was no sexual contact between Dr Ali and the students, he did target "young, vulnerable, full fee-paying, overseas female students".

However no recommendation for further action was made as none of the women were prepared to be involved in a criminal prosecution (ANI)
