Chongqing (China), Aug 26(ANI): Reading children's text messages or chatting records could now land parents in trouble in China's Chongqing city, as the local municipality has declared all such acts as illegal.
According to the new regulation, which will be implemented on September 1, organizations and individuals are banned from violating minors' privacy, The China Daily reports.
It points out that lawful rights and interests of minors should be given "special and preferential protection."
However, the regulation did not address how to enforce the ban or what kind of punishment will be given in the event of a violation. (ANI)
