Pak nationalist leaders hail India's offer to send 400 docs to flood affected Sindh

Karachi, Wed, 18 Aug 2010 ANI

Karachi, Aug.18 (ANI): Nationalist leaders in Pakistan have welcomed the offer from nearly 400 Indian doctors and paramedics to work in the flood hit areas of Sindh and other inundated parts of the country, saying it would bring a message of love from across the border.

Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party chairman Dr Qadar Magsi welcomed the announcement made by the Indian peace activists to send a team of doctors to help Pakistanis in need.

"While nations around the world are coming forward to help the flood victims, the people of Sindh are happy about the announcement made by the neighbouring country, as it would bring a message of peace," The Daily Times quoted Magsi, as saying.

Senior nationalist leader Rasool Bux Palejo also thanked India for the help.

"We will welcome the Indian peace activists, if Pakistan government allows them to come and work in Sindh," Palejo said.

A statement issued by senior leaders like Wishno Mal and Abrar Kazi said that such measures would enhance people to people contact and also help in bringing the two countries close.

"It is a gesture by the people of India that will bring a message of love, so we welcome it. Not only India, but we welcome the aid sent by Iran, Afghanistan, US and other countries. This is an emergency and in such conditions we will welcome all those who will help the flood affected people," the statement said. (ANI)
