Lahore, Mon, 16 Aug 2010 ANI

Lahore, Aug 16(ANI): Pakistan intelligence agencies have said that over 300 hardliners with links to terrorist groups have entered Lahore, acquiring houses in Afghan and Pakhtun populated localities.

According to the agencies' reports, numerous Afghan nationals are also amongst them, and posing as "Pakistani Pukhtuns" they also possess Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs).

It also disclosed that the business of clothes' transportation across the country from the Azam Cloth Market is in total possession of Afghan nationals.

"Hundreds of Afghan nationals and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people are working in this market who have links with hardened militants," The Daily Times quoted a report, as saying.

"These Afghan nationals facilitate terrorists through their contacts and widespread business, and allow no one except Afghans to enter their inner circle," it added.

The reports further claims that there are several Afghan colonies established within the city's posh localities, where anyone can purchase anything, including weapons and drugs. (ANI)
