London, Aug 15 (ANI): The St Laurence O'Toole Pipe Band, a Grade One pipe band based in Dublin, Ireland, have been crowned World Pipe Band Champions after a record-breaking event at the Glasgow Green.
More than 53,000 people watched the band lift the title in its centenary year.

"I never dreamt I'd be doing this and I think it was consistency that helped us along. It's fantastic. I feel fantastic," the Scotsman quoted him as saying.
"I'm lost for words. to do this in our centenary year just caps the whole thing off. We'll certainly have a party."
Ian Embelton from the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association said: "Every year the standard of competition is so high, but the fans this year have seen something extra special.
Another Irish band, Field Marshall Montgomery, were runners-up and West Lothian's Bathgate and Boghall Caledonia Pipe Band finished third. (ANI)
