New Delhi, Aug.14 (ANI): Over 1,200 people have been confirmed dead and over 500 others are still missing nearly a week after devastating weekend mudslides in northwest China.
A Xinhua news agency report said the death toll has been pegged at 1,239 in northwest Gansu province, with 505 still missing.
Authorities in Beijing have declared Sunday a national day of mourning for the dead mudslide victims. Chinese flags across the country and at embassies and consulates overseas will be lowered to half-mast on Sunday, the government said on its website. (ANI)
