Washington, July 31(ANI): The U.S. has admitted that it is worried about whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks possessing more classified documents.
"Do we have concerns about what might be out there? Yes, we do," The News quoted P.J. Crowley, U.S. State Department spokesman, as saying.
Crowley also said that the State Department could not confirm the longstanding reports that WikiLeaks is in possession of a large set of secret diplomatic cables.
"When we provide our analysis of situations in key countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan, we distribute these across the other agencies including to military addresses," Crowley said.
"There were a handful of cables that came out among this tranche of (92,000 military files published online), maybe five or six. So, is the potential there that State Department documents have been compromised? Yes, but we can't verify that," he added.
WikiLeaks has released over 90,000 secret US documents, which includes details of Afghan civilian deaths, covert operations against the Taliban and proof that Pakistan is aiding the Taliban to organize networks of militant groups that fight against American soldiers in Afghanistan.
The documents called the 'Afghan War Diaries, 2004-2010', represents one of the biggest leaks in U.S. military history. (ANI)
