Lahore, July 30(ANI): A Lahore police officer, Aslam Tareen, has warned that the city's courts are on the hit list of terror groups, as miscreants can enter them by wearing the uniform of lawyers and police officials.
Tareen said that the threat could be avoided if the lawyers stop objecting to their physical search by security guards deployed at the entry points of the court premises.
In a letter addressed to the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and Lahore Bar Association (LBA) Presidents, Tareen asked them to direct lawyers to cooperate with the police.
"It has been reported by SP Security that lawyers avoid their physical search by the security guards and police officials deployed at the entry points of the court premises in the city," The Nation quoted Tareen, as having written in his letter.
He has also forwarded the copies of the warning letter to the Punjab Chief Secretary, the Punjab Home Secretary, the Punjab Police Inspector General, the Registrar Lahore High Court, Lahore District and Sessions judges, the District Coordination Officer and the Lahore Superintendent of Police Security.
