Police negligence caused Friday's Lahore attacks: Pak intelligence

Lahore , Sun, 25 Jul 2010 ANI

Lahore, July 25(ANI): Intelligence reports have disclosed that police negligence was the reason behind Friday night's attack on two police stations in Lahore.

According to sources, the intelligence agencies had already forwarded reports to the authorities concerned, mentioning that terrorists could attack police installations as well as officials individually, at any time.

The reports also mentioned that terrorists had done their 'homework' in this regard, The Daily Times reports.

Two terrorists riding on a motorbike had opened fire on a police van outside Gulshan-e-Ravi Police Station, and two police vans were badly damaged in two low-intensity blasts outside Lytton Road police station, killing one policeman and injuring five others.

The injured were immediately shifted to Mayo Hospital where two of them are reported to be critical.

The attacks spread panic in Lahore police and the security at police stations and other police offices was beefed up. (ANI)
