New York, July 21 (ANI): Former New York governor Eliot Spitzer apparently was so keen to be on the small screen that he accepted a contract from CNN for less than 1 million dollars to host a prime-time show.
According to a source, Spitzer is making closer to 500,000 dollars than 1 million dollars, as is his co-host, Kathleen Parker.
Insiders say CNN isn't spending a lot on talent for the 8 p.m. show because its chances for success are slim.
MSNBC's Bill Wolff, executive producer of "The Rachel Maddow Show," recently turned down a hefty offer from CNN to produce Spitzer's show after MSNBC made him a substantial counteroffer.
"We don't comment on contracts," the New York Post quoted a spokesperson for CNN as saying. (ANI)
