Melbourne, July 21 (ANI): If you are a fan of classic brews, here's one for you - a beer made from a 9,000-year-old recipe.

An American brewery has recreated the beer after analysing the insides of neolithic pottery found at a burial site in Henan province, in central China.

Chateau Jiahu, from the Dogfish Head Brewery, is prepared from wildflower honey, muscat grapes, barley malt, hawthorn fruit and chrysanthemums.

It will hit the US market next month at US13 dollar per bottle, reports the Age.

Patrick McGovern, of University of Pennsylvania, came across the pottery shards on a trip to China 10 years ago.

In the past, scientists relied on stylistic similarities of early pottery and bronze vessels to argue for the existence of a prehistoric fermented beverage in China. (ANI)
