China welcomes India-Pakistan foreign ministers dialogue

New Delhi, Thu, 15 Jul 2010 ANI

New Delhi, Jul 15 (ANI): China has welcomed foreign ministers level talks between India and Pakistan to narrow their differences through dialogue and cooperation.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said China supports the two countries' efforts to strengthen mutual trust and solve their differences through dialogue and cooperation.

Indian External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna began his three-day visit of Pakistan on Wednesday.

India suspended dialogue with Pakistan in the wake of the November 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai that killed nearly 170 people.

India blamed the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) for the attack.

Both India and Pakistan are neighbors of China and important countries in South Asia, Xinhua quoted Qin, as saying.

The improvement and development of India-Pakistan ties is in the interests of peace and stability in both South Asia and the Asian region, Qin added. (ANI)
