Malaysia to provide more opportunities for Indian youths to attend skills courses

Kuala Lumpur , Wed, 14 Jul 2010 ANI

Kuala Lumpur, July 14(ANI): Malaysian Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Gan Ping Sieu has said that more opportunities would be given to Indian youths to pursue courses in skills training institutes managed by his ministry.

Sieu said that the decision was made after discussions with ministry officers revealed that the number of Indian youths in the skills training centres were not encouraging.

He also stressed that the response from Chinese youths was poor as well, as many of them were more inclined to help manage families' business affairs.

The minister however said that the situation was different with the Indian youth, as many of them were unable to complete their education due to poverty and family-related problems, The Star reports.

Sieu further urged Indian youths to grab the opportunity to study in skills training centers, so that they can set up their own businesses later. (ANI)
