Kuala Lumpur, Jul 12 (ANI): A group of 20 Human Rights Party (HRP) supporters turned up outside the Istana Negara here to hand over a memorandum seeking the Malaysian King's intervention to help top Indian students.
The group, led by its secretary-general P. Uthayakumar, turned up at the palace and handed the memorandum to a palace official on Sunday.
They were seeking the King's intervention to help top Indian students secure Public Service Department scholarships and study loans as well as university and matriculation places, The Star reports.
The HRP claimed that over 2,000 Indians students had their applications for scholarships rejected by the Government despite them passing their exams with flying colours.
The group dispersed peacefully after 20 minutes. (ANI)
