Kuala Lumpur, July 10 (ANI): Dr Rais Yatim, the Malaysian minister for Information, Communications, and Culture, says actors will not be allowed to violate the tenets of Islam and pose nude for films.

"Something that is prohibited in Islam and is still done is a violation. So, we are not keen to discuss this matter," The Star Online quoted Dr Rais, as saying at a recent press conference.

He said stripping naked in movies was not a culture in Malaysia but Hollywood and Bollywood films probably influenced certain producers.

"We are not for naked scenes in films. It should not be highlighted because it is unsuitable with our way of life," the minister added.

When asked if Dalam Botol, a film starring actor Arja Lee, should be banned because of its portrayal of nudity, Rais said it was for the censor board to decide. (ANI)
