Karachi, July 4 (ANI): Condemning Thursday's twin suicide attack at Lahore's Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh shrine in which 42 people were killed and over 175 injured,Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has urged the government to immediately close down seminaries imparting sectarian strife.
Addressing his party workers over telephone from London, Hussain asked the country's leadership to resign as it has failed to protect country's masses from terrorists.
"Pakistan is being captured by a handful of terrorists. I will fight for the solidarity and independence of the country and will also struggle against extremism, till my last breath," The Daily Times quoted Hussain, as saying.
He also appealed the media to boycott clerics and religious leaders involved in fuelling sectarian violence.
"I salute the ulemas who condemn terrorism and declare suicide attacks unlawful," Hussain said. (ANI)
