Washington, July 3 (ANI): Two members of the alleged Russian spy ring have confessed to using fake names and backgrounds to live in the United States as a couple for years, a court filing revealed today.
The Arlington, Virginia, couple, who lived under the names Michael Zottoli and Patricia Mills, have also revealed their true names to federal authorities, according to the filing by prosecutors in Alexandria federal court in preparation for the bail hearing today, the New York Post reports.
And they are planning to have their two children taken to live in Russia now that they face criminal charges connected to their alleged spying in the US.
Zottoli and Mills-who previously lived in Seattle before moving to Arlington in October 2009 -- were busted earlier this week along with eight other people who are accused of belonging to a Russian spy ring that had them acting as sleeper agents for up to a decade or more.
A third defendant, Mikhail Semenko, also appeared briefly in court. All three will remain in jail after waiving their right to a detention hearing. (ANI)
