Queen gives green light for beer festival at Windsor Castle

London, July 2 (ANI): The Queen of England has given her approval for a three-day beer festival to be held at Windsor Castle.

Thousands are expected to attend the festival, which ale group CAMRA will base around Windsor Farm Shop.

And along with the forty cask ales that will be on offer, there will be game shot at the castle, Balmoral and Sandringham.

Organisers are hoping ale-loving Prince Philip, 89, will accept an invitation to call in for a couple.

"This is a fantastic honour for us and we hope the Duke of Edinburgh will join us," the Sun quoted organiser Alec Moore, 65, as saying.

"Princes William and Harry enjoy a tipple too, so it would be great if he brought them along," he said.

But all who attend the festival must be out by 6pm for security reasons.

"It wouldn't do for anyone to make a wrong turn after dark!" Moore added.

The festival will start on July 16 and the beers will include Old Windsor Dark Ale and Gold Ale.

Prince Philip commissioned them from a brewery and has a cask delivered to him every month.

"Prince Philip loves his real ales and a decision was taken to open the grounds for a festival to celebrate them," a Windsor source stated. (ANI)
