French dancer performs strip show on top of Uluru

Melbourne, June 27 (ANI): A French exotic dancer performed a strip show on top of Australia's most sacred rock.

Alizee Sery, 25, walked to the top of Uluru and put on the impromptu show as a 'tribute' to Aborigines and their culture and to fulfill a lifelong dream.

However, the performance is likely to annoy traditional owners who see Uluru as the most holy place in Central Australia.

The strip show is also likely to infuriate Parks Australia, which is under intense pressure to ban people from climbing the world's biggest monolith.

"I do not mean in any way for this video to offend the Aboriginal culture," "I am aware that Uluru is sacred in their culture," News.com.au quoted her as telling the Sunday Territorian.

"My project is a tribute to the greatness of The Rock. What we need to remember is that traditionally, the Aboriginal people were living naked. So stripping down was a return to what it was like.

"After such a hard climb, when you reach the top, the view and the magic of the place gives you an amazing feeling of peace and freedom. You want to sing, dance - and strip," she added.

Sery said that climbing to the top was like a dream come true.

"I believe it's one of those things that we must experience in a lifetime," she said.

"I thought that if I'm only going to climb The Rock once in my entire life, when I reach the top I must do something out of the ordinary, something catchy, something crazy.

"I want to give people the courage to believe in themselves. If I can do a strip on Ayers Rock, then anything is possible," she added. (ANI)
