Lahore, June 25 (ANI): Making derogatory remarks against their female counterparts sitting in the opposition seem to be the favourite time pass for the Punjab Assembly members, with one of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) MPA (member of the provincial assembly) describing women opposition members as 'baansuries' (flutes) of their leaders.
According to reports, PPP's MPA from Bahwalnagar Shaukat Mehmood Basra called his women counterparts in opposition 'flutes' of their party leaders, which resulted in sever uproar in the house.
Speaker Rana Mohammed Iqbal Khan reprimanded Basra for using objectionable language against female members of the house, but the MPA didn't heed the warnings, and continued to attack the opposition members for their links with the dictatorial regime in the past, The News reports.
Sanctity returned in the house only when the speaker issued directions to expunge the remarks of Shaukat Basra from the proceedings. (ANI)
