Columbus (USA), June 22(ANI): A California woman arrested in Columbus, Ohio, after police found over 230 kilograms of marijuana in her luggage has been indicted on drug charges.
The charges were brought against 28-year-old Lisette Lee in the U.S. District Court in Columbus.
She faces one count of conspiracy and one of possession with intent to distribute over 100 kilograms of marijuana, CBS News reports.
Lee was arrested on June 17 by Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) officials at Port Columbus International Airport in Ohio.
She was flying from California to Columbus in a private jet when officials said that they becoming suspicious of her luggage.
Officials also confiscated three mobile phones, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and suspected drug ledgers that showed some 300,000 dollars in transactions.
Upon her arrest, Lee told investigators that she was a member of the Lee family that founded the Samsung Electronics empire, and an heiress to the company fortune, claims the company has since denied.
She is being held without bail, and if convicted, she could face up to 40 years in prison and a fine of up to two million dollars. (ANI)
