New York, Jun.19 (ANI): Pakistani security agencies are still quizzing the American construction worker, who was nabbed while on a solo mission to 'hunt' down and kill Al-Qaeda warlord Osama bin Laden earlier this week.
Officials said that investigation agencies want to ascertain as to from where and from whom Gary Faulkner obtained the pistol and the dagger, which were recovered from him.
"The investigators who conducted psychological tests on Faulkner want to know how and where he got the pistol, dagger," said Khan, a senior police investigator in Peshawar, who asked to be identified by his last name only.
Faulkner has not been charged yet, but there are little chances of him being released soon.
"He is not likely to be released very soon, until all government agencies are satisfied," The New York Post quoted an expert as saying, on conditions of anonymity.
Sources said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is looking into Faulkner's travel history and seeking any connection that he might have made with Pakistanis at home or abroad.
During his interrogation, Faulkner told police that he had visited Pakistan seven times, and this was his third trip to Chitral.
"Pakistan is at war against terrorism and moving freely in the remote mountains of Chitral region for an American is not as easy as you can imagine, unless he or she have any "friends" in the area," Khan added.
It may be noted that the United States has already put forth its demand to grant access to Faulkner.
"The US embassy has filed an application seeking access to 52-year-old Gary Brooks Faulkner," US Embassy spokesman Richard Snelsire had said earlier this week. (ANI)
