New 'magic' drink to cure hangovers

London , Fri, 18 Jun 2010 ANI

London, June 18 (ANI): A company has launched a new 'magic' drink that has the potential to cure hangovers and reduce drunkenness.

The makers of Outox have described it as 'revolutionary' and claim that it speeds up breakdown of alcohol in blood and reduce drunkenness.

Sceptics, however, are unconvinced.

"If someone invented a product capable of really lowering the level of alcohol in the blood, he would deserve a Nobel prize," Sky News quoted Alain Rigaud, president of the anti-alcoholism campaign group Association Nationale de Prevention en Alcoologie et Addictologie (ANPAA) as saying.

Although the company claims that it has conducted due medical tests and assured that a scientist will be present at the launch to talk about fructose - a sugar used in preservatives and intravenous drips, many are worried that such a drink may encourage people to drive without checking their alcohol level.

The French health ministry said although there are worries about the product, Outox itself is not thought to be dangerous and they are unlikely to ban it. (ANI)
