Unexploded WW II bomb found near Brit 'Houses of Parliament'

London, June 12 (ANI): An unexploded bomb, suspected to be of the Second World War era, was recovered at a short distance from the Imperial War Museum Houses which is just about a mile from the British Houses of Parliament.

 

Two members of the public, who later called the PA Police to investigate the case, saw the bomb, The Telegraph reported.

 

Part of Westminister Bridge Road, between Morley Street and Gerridge Street, was closed following the discovery. fficers were at the scene investigating reports that explosives had been found, a Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed. (ANI)

 

Chinese police launch drive to curb online soccer gambling|World[New Delhi{New Delhi, Jun 12 (ANI): To curb online soccer gambling as the 2010 World Cup kicked off, the police in China have launched crackdowns all over the country.ore than 100 people have been detained for participating in online soccer gambling with more than 10 billion yuan (1.47 billion U.S. dollars) recovered in one case in Yuyao City, in east China's Zhejiang Province, said Dong Xiaowei, deputy chief of the provincial public security bureau.

 

More than 70 gambling groups have been cracked for online soccer gambling this year with more than 300 arrested, Xinhua quoted him, as saying.

 

Similar cases have been uncovered in Beijing, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Fujian and Shandong.

 

There are about 2,000 Chinese and offshore websites for soccer gambling in China, and the membership of some websites amounts to one million, according to Public Security Ministry data.

 

Gambling is prohibited on the Chinese mainland by law. (ANI)
