Melbourne, June 1 (ANI): A French stuntman, who is known as spiderman for his ability to free climb tall buildings without safety equipment, has had to put his plans to scale a Sydney skyscraper on hold.

Alain Robert decided not to climb the Deutsche Bank building on June 1 as building security guards were blocking his access, revealed publicity agent Max Markson.

"He is going to postpone it because security is waiting where he wanted to make his ascent," News.com.au quoted Markson as saying.

A police rescue team remains on standby at the building on the corner of Phillip and Hunter streets.

Last year Robert was fined 750 dollars for illegally climbing the 41-storey Royal Bank of Scotland building in Sydney's CBD.

"I'm sure he'll be charged if he's caught," Markson said.

"I think he's an amazing climber and the world needs interesting people like him," he added.

Robert has previously climbed the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the Eiffel Tower and the New York Times building to raise awareness of global warming. (ANI)
