London, Apr.9 (ANI): Britain has clarified that it would not mediate between India and Pakistan over long pending issues between them, including Kashmir.
Interacting with media persons after visiting the Islamic Centre here, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said his country wants a cordial relationship between India and Pakistan, and would support decisions taken by the two nations to improve ties.
"We support strong and improved relations between Pakistan and India and it is up to them to decide the matter through bilateral dialogues," The News quoted Miliband, as saying.
Responding a question, Miliband rejected the notion that a large number of British Muslims are radicalised.
"The radicalization is among a small minority. The vast bulk of British Muslims are proud, committed, law abiding British citizens and we should celebrate for them," he said.
Speaking about London's continued support to Islamabad, Miliband said that Britain is committed to provide 665 million pounds to the troubled country over the next four years for the health and education sector.
Miliband stressed that there would be no cut in international aid even though the Labour Government has said that on winning the May 6 general elections the public spending would be curtailed to reduce deficit. (ANI)
