New York, April 6 (ANI): US President Barack Obama has admitted that his much awaited ceremonial first pitch on Opening Day in Washington was a ball, "little high and outside".bama tossed the ball Monday at the Washington Nationals home opener against the Philadelphia Phillies for the first time after assuming the President's office since he could not make it to the game last year because of the G-20 summit in Europe.
However, this throw was an improvement from his first pitch at the All-Star Game last July in St. Louis.
Cheers and boos echoed across the stadium as Obama walked to the mound. He sported a Nationals team jacket, and put on a Chicago White Sox cap before throwing out his pitch.
His pitch was way wide of Nationals' third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, who had to leap to take the catch.
"It was a little high-a little high and outside," the New York Post quoted Obama, as saying later.
The commander-in-chief has been traditionally throwing out the "first pitch of the season" since William Howard Taft began the practice in 1910, when the Washington Senators hosted the hiladelphia Athletics at National Park. (ANI)
