Robbers in Connecticut call bank ahead to reserve money bag!

London, Thu, 25 Mar 2010 ANI

London, March 25 (ANI): Cops foiled a robbery attempt by two men after the duo called up a bank demanding cash be kept ready before they arrived.

The men called the People's United Bank branch in Fairfield, Connecticut, and warned of a "blood bath" lest a bag full of money was waiting for them.

However, police were called in and the would-be robbers were arrested when they reach the bank.

One man has been identified as 27-year-old Albert Bailey while the other is a 16-year-old boy.

According to Sgt James Perez, the two Bridgeport residents arrived at the bank about 10 minutes after making the call and were taken into custody.

"You can't make this stuff up," the Telegraph quoted Sgt Perez, as telling the Connecticut Post.

He added: "They literally called the bank and said to have the bag of money ready on the floor because they're coming to rob the place." (ANI)
