After FATA, NWFP, US eying Punjab, Karachi and Quetta for 'disastrous' war on terror

Lahore, Mon, 08 Mar 2010 ANI

Lahore, Mar. 8 (ANI): Jamaat-e-Islami chief Syed Munawwar Hasan has warned that the US is conspiring to extend its never-ending war on terror to Punjab, Karachi and Quetta.

"The drones are now flying over Chaman and Quetta, and there is a possibility of attacks on Karachi in search of the so-called Taliban. Pakistan incurred losses worth 50 billion dollars in this American war, but Washington and the so-called Friends of Democratic Pakistan had not paid even a penny so far," The Dawn quoted him as saying.

He added that the US would surely quit Pakistan in a humiliating manner after having left Afghanistan and Iraq in a disastrous state.

Speaking to JI office-bearers at central, provincial and district levels at Mansoora, Hasan said that his party's 'Go America Go' campaign is aimed at exposing the US intentions.

Hasan pointed out that in Fata, innocent women and children were becoming target of drone attacks and military operation and properties of the people were being destroyed.

Over 10,000 security personnel and 21,000 civilians have been killed in the ongoing war, but still Washington doubts Islamabad's sincerity, he added.

He also accused the ISPR of spreading disinformation and said its press releases were irresponsible and false. (ANI)
