London, March 4 (ANI): Lorna Gobey, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday, has revealed the secret to her longevity. The centenarian says she still indulges herself with things she loves to do such as smoking and playing skittles.
Gobey, from St Peter's, Cheltenham, has lived through two world wars and walked down the aisle thrice.
She is mum to eight children and has 27 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
She is still fond of bingo and playing the mouth organ, and such is her enthusiasm that she sneaked outside from the local Labour club, where her 100th birthday party was being thrown, to enjoy a roll-up cigarette with mates.
"I've always tried to enjoy life. I think it's important to do the things you want to do and not to let things get you down," the Daily Express quoted Gobey, as saying.
She added: "I like my smokes, a drop of whisky and Guinness and I still love to play skittles. Perhaps it's part of the reason I have lived for so long.
"I'm going to carry on for as long as I can. I'm captain of my skittles team and I want to continue playing. My lifestyle hasn't done me any harm so far. You could say I haven't followed the rule book, but I'm not about to change now."
Gobey was born in Apperley, Glos in 1910. (ANI)
