London, Feb 28 (ANI): Scott Brown, the recently elected senator from Massachusetts, donned pink leather shorts on his first date with his future wife, his daughter has revealed.
Brown hit the headlines last month after making it to the senate from Massachusetts, a seat long held by the Kennedys, becoming the first Republican to achieve the feat since 1972.
The 'pink shorts' revelation was made by his 19-year-old daughter Arianna.
Brown, a former model brown, told the New York Times he had got the shorts in part payment for a modelling assignment and they went well with his tanned legs.
"If I wore these now," Times Online quoted him, as saying.
"I'd get shot. But it was the 1980s. Pastels were in. It was all pastely."
Although Gail Huff later went on to marry Brown she was quite taken aback at the sight of his shorts.
Brown said: "Gail comes out and she's like, 'Those are pink shorts.' I said, 'Yeah, you like them? They're great. Comfortable. Feel this leather'.
"This isn't cheap leather...This is, like, 750-dollar shorts back then." (ANI)
