Macqaurie banker caught checking Kerr's steamy shots gets to keep his job

Melbourne, Fri, 05 Feb 2010 ANI

Melbourne, Feb 5 (ANI): The red-faced Macquarie Wealth adviser, who was caught looking at photographs of scantily clad women on a live TV broadcast, has been told he can keep his job.

David Kiely had clicked up the images of Australian model Miranda Kerr, unaware a colleague nearby was doing a live television interview about the Australian economy.

Australia's Seven Network broadcast the news item on February 2, with the photographs clearly showing on a computer screen in the background.

Now Macquarie has in a statement released February 5 said it has completed an internal review of the events and action has been taken after discussions with the employee.

"He will remain an employee of Macquarie," the Australian quoted the statement as saying.

"Macquarie and the employee apologise for any offence that may have been caused," it stated.

Kiely's actions had garnered worldwide interest on YouTube, which culminated in a worldwide online campaign, reportedly involving more than a thousand emails to Macquarie in support of him keeping his job. (ANI)
