Kuala Lumpur, Jan 29 (ANI): Female Malaysian students are being called upon to display their true love for their boyfriends by not wearing panties on Valentine's Day.
The "no-panties" drive has generated a great deal of interest among students and the campaign is being promoted by word-of-mouth.
Ummi and Melissa from Shah Alam, both in their 20s say they know about the "promotion."
"I feel it is personal," the Star Online quoted Ummi, as saying.
She added: "Valentine's Day is a good time to express one's love. And, what we use or don't use is our right, our freedom. But we will do what is right. It's a new world now."
Melissa says a number of girls were already game for the plan.
She added: "We will know how many by Valentine's evening."
However, the state Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) director Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi said: "We will not allow Muslim students to be taken in by such celebrations that deviate from the teachings of Islam." (ANI)
