Beijing, Jan.25 (ANI): North Korea has warned South Korean that it considering a "pre-emptive" strike in the event of a nuclear attack from Pyongyang, amounts to an "open declaration of war".
The bellicose statement issued on Sunday by the North's military commanders comes as China and the United States work to restart the six-party nuclear disarmament talks that have been stalled since April last year.
A statement by the General Staff of the Korean People's Army said: "They (the North Korean armed forces) will take prompt and decisive military actions against any attempt of the South Korean puppet authorities... and blow up the major targets including the commanding centre."
The Korean Central News Agency described North Korea's irate riposte as formulaic and added that it would have scant impact on efforts to bring Pyongyang back to the negotiating table. (ANI)
