Telephone repair tool kits latest security scare in Pak Punjab!

Lahore, Sat, 23 Jan 2010 ANI

Lahore, Jan.23 (ANI): Security officials present on duty outside the Punjab Assembly were at the receiving end of Provincial Minister for Prisons Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor's anger when they denied entry to technicians who had come to fix the minister's telephone line.

The story goes like this: Ghafoor had called technicians to fix a snag in his office telephone line during Friday's session.

The technicians were stopped outside the Assembly building by security guards and denied entrance even after Ghafoor came arrived on the scene and clarified things.

This infuriated Ghafoor and showered some harsh words on the guards, but even that didn't deter them.

Ghafoor then went to Chief Security Officer Sardar Akbar, but he too refused to take note of minister's problem and didn't' allow the technicians to enter the Assembly building with their 'suspicious' tool-kit, which added to his anger.

However, later when Ghafoor's temper cooled down, he lauded the security guards for sticking to their duty despite being pressurised.

"The guards did a good job of observing the rules and regulations," The Daily Times quoted Ghafoor, as saying. (ANI)
