London, Jan 23 (ANI): An angry barmaid has decided to sue one of Germany's biggest brewers after they portrayed her in a huge worldwide advertising campaign.
Sylvia Mutzel, 30, who allowed a picture of her serving Hofbrauhaus lager at Munich's annual Oktoberfest beer festival to be used for a one-off restaurant promotion, had not given permission for it to be used internationally.
She was left stunned when she discovered the photo had secretly become the international face of the company in New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and all over China.
The photo was splashed across six packs, posters, and even computer screen savers worldwide as the perfect image of a strapping German bargirl.
And Mutzel only found out when her cousin working in Shanghai wanted to give colleagues a taste of German food and discovered her picture all over the city's local Hofbrauhaus bar.
Now the furious waitress has asked judges to force the Munich brewers to hand over a whopping 26,000 pounds in compensation.
"She is very upset to have been used so badly. Just because she is just a barmaid, that doesn't mean she can be pushed about and taken advantage of," the Sun quoted a friend of hers as saying. (ANI)
