We cannot be killed by any stroke of pen or bayonets: Zardari

Islamabad, Fri, 22 Jan 2010 ANI

Islamabad, Jan.22 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has hit out at his critics and people demanding his ouster saying he would not be deterred by a "conspiracy of pen."

Addressing a public gathering during a function in Chakwal, Zardari, referring to the Supreme Court's verdict declaring the controversial amnesty law, the National Reconciliation (NRO) as 'unconstitutional', said that he would not succumb to the conspiracies being hatched by so called 'politicians'.

"We cannot be killed by any stroke of pen, or bayonets," Zardari said.

"Those who were part of the conspiracy against (Benazir) Bhutto have now admitted that it was a judicial murder.Even today, a conspiracy of pen is underway against the PPP," he added.

Zardari said that Bhutto's government was destabilised according to a conspiracy, which was devised by 'non-state actors.'

"History bears testimony to the fact that those who tried to stop Benazir from returning dismissed her first government. These non-state actors have admitted conspiring against PPP," The Daily Times quoted Zardari, as saying. (ANI)
