Lahore, Jan.16 (ANI): Consistent criticism of the US by the Pakistani leadership has angered President Obama's Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke.
During a meeting with the leaders of all major political parties, Holbrooke expressed his displeasure over the relentless criticism of the US by the Pakistani media and the political leaders.
PPP Information Secretary Fauzia Wahab said Holbrooke had been upset by the lack of acknowledgement of positive steps taken by the US for Pakistan.
"The Pakistani media should acknowledge the US role in Pakistan's development, to allow Obama administration to show the US Congress the Pakistani response," The Daily Times quoted Holbrooke, as saying.
Talking to reporters at Parliament House, ANP leader Asfandyar Wali Khan, who was also present in the meeting with Holbrooke, acknowledged US support to Pakistan
"We appreciate the visit by US Special Envoy Richard Holbrooke to Swat and his government's humanitarian assistance for development. The US' commitment to rebuild Swat is a sign that they are serious about helping the country defeat the militants," Khan said. (ANI)
