Lahore, Dec. 26 (ANI): Pakistan's religious party Jamaat-e-Islami has resolved that freedom from US "slavery" is the country's foremost need.
According to a resolution passed by the party with JI leader Syed Munawar Hasan in the chair, the objective of freedom from US slavery could be achieved by reaffirming Islamic character with the Quran and Sunnah.
The resolution maintained that the country had become a US slave, and the US interference in our internal affairs had doubled within a year.
The resolution declared that Pakistan had never been a failed state, and the failure actually lay with the civil and military governments who deceived the masses time and again and pushed the country towards civil war, chaos and economic depravity to protect their vested interests and to serve the US agenda, The News reports.
It held military regimes primarily responsible for the present crisis in the country but also slammed present political leadership for wasting precious 21 months due to criminal neglect, incompetence, serving personal and party interests, misadministration and corruption.
"The result was that Pervez Musharraf's policies were still being continued in every sphere and the nation's criminals were at large and leading luxurious lives abroad while the country was in the grip of crisis after crisis," it read. (ANI)
