Lahore, Dec.25 (ANI): A day after reports regarding former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members owning property worth more than 20 million pounds (2.7 billion rupees) across London were flashed in the media, a statement issued by the Sharif family has rebuffed the claims.
According to the statement, no member of the Sharif family other than Hasan Nawaz Sharif, son of Nawaz Sharif, has any stakes in the company named the Flagship Investments Ltd.
The statement also said that the offices in the up scale Tower Bridge House are that of a multinational auditing and accounting firm and do not belong to the Flagship Investments Ltd.
However, the 2009 edition of the Who's Who of Britain's Young Business Elite, mentions Hasan's address as "Tower Bridge House, St Katherine's Way, London", which is contrary to the claims made by the Sharif's press release.
The documents related to the Flagship Investments Limited, one of the companies run by the Sharif family in London, claim that the family owns property worth around 10 million pounds in Central London, excluding the value of the company's office.
The company's website mentions Nawaz Sharif's son, Hasan Sharif name as its director, The Daily Times reports.
According to the website, www.flagshipinvestments.co.uk, it refurbishes and redevelops luxury residential properties in upscale Central London.
According to reports, Nawaz Sharif and his family members own costly flats and apartments in and around high-end Central London.
Earlier reports in the media had claimed that the Sharifs own property worth more than 20 million pounds (2.7 billion rupees) across London. Of these, the Sharif family residence, three flats at 17 Avenfield House, and 118 Park Lane alone are worth around 12 million pounds (1.6 billion rupess). (ANI)
