Islamabad, Nov.22 (ANI): While both the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) clarifying that they support former President General Pervez Musharraf's high treason trial, Baloch leaders doubt that the former general would ever be prosecuted as he 'enjoys world powers' sympathies.'
"Global players who have always influenced developments in Pakistan, directly or indirectly, are likely to bar the rulers from taking any action against Musharraf," saild senior Baloch leader Muhammad Aslam Bhootani.
Jamhoori Watan Party chief and son of slain Baloch leader Akbar Bugti, Talal Bugti said there are few chances of Musharraf returning to the country in near future.
"It is my conviction that Musharraf will not return soon and will first carefully watch the developments inside and outside of parliament," The News quoted Bugti, as saying.
He said Musharraf would only return back to Pakistan after receiving certain assurances from 'foreign powers.'
"Had he enough courage and conviction in Pakistani institutions, he would have returned to the country long ago, but he would be back only after certain guarantees would be given to him, particularly from abroad," Bugti added. (ANI)
