Washington, October 29 (ANI): Sarah Palin has slammed CBS News for allowing a stage to Levi Johnston, the father of her grandchild, to speak lies that defame her.
Johnston had alleged on "The Early Show," that the former Alaska governor used to call Trig, her son with Down syndrome, "retarded baby."
He had further asserted that if he "really wanted to hurt [Palin], I could, very easily."
However, Palin has now come to the defense and released a statement saying that everything said on the show was untrue.
The former runner for the post of Vice President of America said that she and her family have "purposefully ignored the mean spirited, malicious and untrue attacks on our family."
"We, like many, are appalled at the inflammatory statements being made or implied," The Politico quoted her as saying in the statement.
She added: "Trig is our 'blessed little angel' who knows it and is lovingly called that every day of his life. Even the thought that anyone would refer to Trig by any disparaging name is sickening and sad.
"CBS should be ashamed for continually providing a forum to propagate lies. Consider the source of the most recent attention-getting lies - those who would sell their body for money reflect a desperate need for attention and are likely to say and do anything for even more attention."
Palin did not specify Johnston's name in the statement, even though she referred to his posing in Playgirl magazine.
Johnston had first made similar claims in a Vanity Fair article. (ANI)
