"BESTIES", "boyzilian wax" among 1000 new words in 5th Macquarie Dictionary!

Melbourne, Tue, 27 Oct 2009 ANI

Melbourne, Oct 27 (ANI): The fifth edition of Macquarie Dictionary has included several new informal words, which have until now been favourites of Facebookers and school going kids.

The dictionary's new edition, which will hit the markets next month has nearly 1000 new words like "BESTIES", meaning one's best pals, the "boyzilian wax" replaces "manscaping", and "tweets" are no more just explained as chirps of baby birds.

Like always, fashion, lifestyle and pop culture have added new terms like "statement eyelashes" and "ethical shopping" to the updated tome, reports The Courier Mail.

Increasing environment consciousness has also given it fresh green-themed entries like "green footprint", "green tax" and "green collar".

Also, this is the first time when the Macquarie Dictionary Online will enter the domain of mobile services with iPhone applications and a mobile-friendly website. (ANI)
