Melbourne, Oct 21 (ANI): New South Wales Planning Minister Kristina Keneally has taken a swipe at her opposition counterpart, accusing him of sexism on the floor of Parliament.
She claimed that Opposition planning spokesman Brad Hazzard inappropriately winked at her after he rose to speak in the House today.
Hazzard was giving notice to debate the increased access for lobbyists to planning officials since Keneally took over the portfolio.
As he sat down, the minister could be heard asking: "Did you just wink at me?"
When she later rose to speak during question time, she went on the attack, News.com.au reported.
"One person I won't thank is the shadow minister Brad Hazzard who thought it was appropriate to wink at me when he moved that ridiculous motion," Keneally told the Parliament.
"I would have thought .... that you men in the Liberal Party would have learnt something about treating female parliamentarians."
However, Hazzard quickly denied the accusation. "There is no way I would wink at that minister on anything. Playing the sexist card in here is not what it's about. It's about planning issues." (ANI)
