Pak will not take Indian dictation on Hafiz Saeed issue : Malik

Lahore, Sun, 11 Oct 2009 ANI

Lahore, Oct.11 (ANI): Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that the authorities are unable to detain Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, the alleged mastermind of the 26/11 terror strike on Mumbai, due to lack of credible evidence and that Islamabad would not be dictated to by India in this regard.

Talking to mediapersons during a function, Malik said Islamabad has asked the United States to tell India to stop interfering in the country's internal issues.

"We have asked the US to use its influence to stop India from intervening in Pakistan," The Daily Times quoted Malik, as saying.

Commenting on the terrorist attack on the Army Headquarters in Rawalpindi, he said the strike was a reaction to the successful military operation in Swat and Malakand Divisions which forced the extremists to retreat.

Malik ensured the country that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP)-led government would not take any decision against the 'national interests'.(ANI)
