Lahore High Court forms special bench to hear Zardari's 'dual office' case

Islamabad, Wed, 07 Oct 2009 ANI

Islamabad, Oct.7 (ANI): The Lahore High Court (LHC) has constituted a two-member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa to hear a petition which challenges President Asif Ali Zardari's dual posts.

The petition, filed by advocate A K Dogar, states that in accordance with the Supreme Court's decision, the President should be uncontroversial and it was his duty to stay away from the country's politics.

"According to Constitution, President is a symbol of federation and he should not be a member of any political party," The Nation quoted the petition, as saying.

Dogar, in his petition, has highlighted that Zardari has yet not responded to the notice which was served to him days ago. (ANI)
