Islamabad, Mon, 05 Oct 2009 ANI

Islamabad, Oct. 5 (ANI): In the wake of Monday's bomb blast outside the UN's World Food Programme offices in Islamabad, all the United Nations offices will remain closed in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi until further orders.

The blast left two Pakistani women and a foreigner killed and eight others injured.

"There was a blast in the street where a UN office is located. We have sent our team there. We don't know the cause," a police official was quoted as saying immediately after the blast.

"It's a blast near the WFP office. We exactly don't know what sort of blast it was and what was its target."

No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack so far.

Tariq Mehmood, a police official at the emergency response department, was quoted as saying: "Three injured people have been brought so far to the local hospital. It was a bomb blast, we are checking if it was a suicide attack." (ANI)
